Therapeutic dog massage in Prenzlauer Berg and surrounding areas

Boost the all-round well-being of your beloved pet dog

Therapeutic massage is an effective way to ease existing health issues but can also help prevent a wide range of problems that can negatively impact your dog’s health and well-being.

Massage is not just about relaxation, but also has some wonderful health benefits. It can aid recovery in acute situations or provide more long-term benefits to ease chronic conditions, and even prevent future ailments.

It works on many levels by boosting the immune system, providing relief from pain and tension, and by reducing stress. Something often underestimated is the fact that dogs, like humans, suffer from issues that can affect their mental well-being, such as anxiety, reactions to the hustle and bustle of city life, and even trauma — if you have a rescue dog, for example.

More specifically, massage can help with:

  • Health problems with the musculoskeletal system

  • Skin and muscle tension

  • Psychischer Gesundheit, Stress und Verhaltensproblemen

The main benefit of massage lies in its ability to relieve pain – and being free of pain is directly connected to your dog’s quality of life. It works by improving circulation so that substances in the tissue that can lead to pain are flushed out. Manual treatment also releases tension in the muscles and lowers muscle tone, which automatically leads to pain relief.

However, massage has a wide range of other benefits, including:

  • Greater mobility

  • Relaxation and stress relief

  • A calmer state of mind

  • Improves trust and bonding

  • Better general physical well-being

Treat your dog to some wellness – you’ll notice the difference and your dog certainly will.

ABOUT ME

Sascha Sardana – dog lover, dog rescuer, dog massage therapist

Admittedly, I don’t look like this anymore. But I love this photo, because it really shows how much dogs have always been a part of my life – and many of my happiest and most cherished memories are of the fun I had with Charlie, our beloved Springer Spaniel.

I’m Sascha – from Ottawa, Canada but have been a resident in Germany since the ‘90s. I grew up with dogs and I can’t imagine not having dogs in my life.

I’ve always worked in areas that were very people-centered, where communication and well-being played an important role — for example, as a teacher, feelgood manager and coach. About 5 years ago, I started to realize I had a strong yearning to take my love of dogs in a more professional direction.

This was inspired by several developments in my personal life – beginning with Django in 2008, a Berlin shelter dog my partner and I shared with another couple. Then came Choti, a street dog we rescued in 2020.

Django sadly passed away in 2022, but he was almost 17 and it was caring for his special needs as an old dog that made me decide to take what I intuitively felt to be right and back it up with proper qualifications.

Caring for Django in his later years really raised my awareness of how important loving — but especially informed — care was to maintain his well-being.

During my journey, I volunteered at Daisy Family Rescue where we adopted Choti. Seeing how she and Django went from being traumatized to become healthy and happy members of our family only strengthened my resolve to work in an area where I could provide relief from pain and promote the all-round well-being of dogs.

Choti was a traumatized rescue dog from Macedonia who survived the brutality of street life and has several health problems from that time. These include the loss of one eye, muscular and skeletal problems that have left her with bowlegs, as well as some pain and discomfort issues associated with that. You could say caring for her is a hands-on “work in progress”.

Making dogs’ lives better is one of my great passions and learning practical and effective ways to make that happen has been a very enriching journey for me. I would love nothing more than to share what I have learned with you to improve your beloved pet’s well-being and quality of life.

Since 2020, I have continuously attended seminars and completed several programs in dog training behaviour (amongst others, Dog Trainer course at Dogmenti, Berlin) and well-being (Training center for canine Physio and Massage Therapy at Katrin Blümchen, NRW) and see this as an ongoing process to qualify myself further.

DOGS ALWAYS MAKE MY HEART SING.
